It should be pointed out here that the only certainty between these
two names, as found in records, is Aodh Óg Ó Domhnall
Mag Fhionnghail. We have followed standard Gaelic nameing practices
to 'restore' the name of his father. For example...someone called
Aodh Óg/Hugh the younger, was obviously the son of a man called
Aodh/Hugh. It was the usual custom to add the word Mór meaning
'greater/older' to the fathers name.
The
first name on the list, Brother Fingal is the most likely ancestor
of the McGinley clan.
